The hosts recently added a private outdoor sauna steps from the cabin, which is an unusual find for a one-bedroom rental in the woods. A deck with a fire pit overlooks the hardwood forest, giving you a front-row seat for October color. I’d plan on slow mornings with coffee on that deck and a sauna session before dinner.
Lake Michigan is about 2 miles away, two ski resorts are roughly 10 minutes out, and Harbor Springs and Petoskey both have plenty of restaurants and brewpubs for dinner. The Tunnel of Trees is close by and winds north to Cross Village and Sturgeon Bay, making it an easy fall drive or bike ride from the cabin.
