#1 tip for finding cheap flights from Rome

Looking for cheap places to fly from Rome? Before jumping into all the coolest cities and airports to fly into, I want to share a quick tip to save money on airfare.

For the past 3 years, I’ve used Scott’s Cheap Flights (now called Going) to find cheap flight deals. It’s free and super easy to use. All you have to do is enter in your home airport (i.e. RME) and where you want to go, and they’ll send you mistake fares and other ridiculously cheap flight deals.

In 2022 alone, I saved thousands of dollars thanks to their email alerts. This includes most recently, a $225 roundtrip fare from Miami to London. On average, I save about $300 roundtrip on selected flight routes. So, I’m a huge fan and couldn’t recommend them more!

If you’re a frequent flier, consider getting their premium version. It costs $49 per year, but it will easily save you hundreds (or thousands) of dollars if you fly just 1-2 times. I recommend signing up for the free trial (which you can cancel at any time) to test it out for yourself. And if you like it, use my coupon code JON20 to save 20%!

Other considerations when finding cheap places to fly from Rome

To find the cheapest places to fly from Rome, I focused on major airports in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. Sure, you can occasionally find flight deals to other continents. However, more likely than not, these destinations will have the cheapest fares and are the most accessible from Rome.

Note that flight prices from Rome can vary immensely throughout the year. For example, a flight to the Canary Islands might cost more in the winter than the summer. If you’re looking to visit Northern Europe, you’re better off visiting during the off-season, which is typically between Jan-April. Though the price of a roundtrip fare may look different, the cheapest destinations from Rome should remain the same, regardless of when you’re flying.

For the purposes of this article, I removed nearby destinations from this list. This includes cities like Milan, Florence, Bologna, and Naples, which have cheap flights from Rome but are within driving or train distance. Instead, I focused on cheap trips from Rome to anywhere around the world.

From domestic to international flights, here are the 13 cheapest places to fly from Rome in 2023.

Looking to save BIG on airfare? I recommend signing up for Dollar Flight Club. Thanks to DFC, I’ve saved $5,000+ on travel in 2024…so I couldn’t recommend it more!
