I couldn’t write a list of the best French Riviera stays without including this Cannes villa. It’s built for unforgettable group getaways.

With six suites, this place was designed for comfort. There’s a heated pool, a chef’s kitchen, and multiple indoor and outdoor dining areas, so you’ll have plenty of space to spread out. The villa sits just far enough from the center to feel peaceful, but close enough that you can walk to the Promenade de la Croisette in about 15 minutes.

When I’m in Cannes, I always make time for a day trip to Antibes, its Provencal market and coastal trails are some of my favorite spots. Grasse is also nearby if you’re into perfume making, or head to Les Trayas for red rock hikes overlooking the sea.

If you’re looking for the kind of place that feels straight out of a French fairytale, this château in Grasse absolutely delivers.

Built in the 19th century by a famous perfumier and once visited by Queen Victoria, this seven-bedroom estate has all the grandeur you’d expect. Inside, you’ll find marble mosaics, gold-leaf details, and a ballroom that seats up to 120. There’s also a Roman-style spa with a heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, massage rooms, and even a private bar.

In Grasse, I like to stop by Fragonard to create my own perfume. It’s just a five-minute drive from the château. You’re also about 30 minutes from Cannes for beachside dining along La Croisette, and if you love hiking, the red cliffs of Les Trayas are one of my favorite spots nearby.

4. Panoramic Sea View Retreat

The panoramic view from this Cannes villa is the kind you’ll remember long after your trip. From the patio, you can see the Lérins Islands and the red peaks of the Esterel Mountains, all while lounging by a private heated pool.

Start your morning with a stroll through Parc de la Croix des Gardes, a local favorite for sea views and shaded trails. After that, it’s an easy trip to Le Suquet for lunch in the old town or a relaxing afternoon at the beaches along La Croisette, both less than 10 minutes from the villa.

When you want Côte d’Azur views without the Cannes crowds, this hilltop gem delivers both privacy and access. The recently renovated apartment sits on a private domain with sweeping sea and mountain views from your terrace, plus you’re sharing an infinity pool with sweet Irish-Brazilian hosts who might offer you rosé.

One bedroom with a king bed, modern kitchen, and travertine tiles throughout. The Italian-style walk-in shower and AC keep things comfortable. Perfect for couples wanting authentic French Riviera experience without tourist chaos.

Les Adrets-de-l’Estérel village has Les Délices de Manon et Thomas bakery (currently in finals for France’s best!). I always grab their pain au chocolat amande before heading to Lac de Saint-Cassien. Cannes is 20 minutes away, and Chez R&M restaurant has sunset views that’ll ruin you.

There’s a separate guest house for extra privacy, plus a gym, cinema room, and even a professionally equipped office if you need to catch up on work.

The villa is set on a peaceful estate just minutes from Monte Carlo, so you get the best of both worlds. For a splurge-worthy dinner, book a table at Le Louis XV in the Hotel de Paris. Or stroll through La Condamine Market for fresh local produce and baked goods. If you’re up for a day trip, Eze Village is only 15 minutes away and always worth the drive.

If you’re dreaming of a beachfront villa in the South of France, this one is in a league of its own. The property sits directly on the sands of Canadel Beach, with panoramic sea views and a private garden the size of a small park.

There are eight bedrooms, a sprawling dining terrace that seats 20, and cozy spaces like the vintage library filled with antique books. A private chef prepares your meals, and daily housekeeping is included, so you can actually relax. Kids will love the playground and game room, while adults can unwind in the garden pavilion or take a kayak out on the water.

When I’m in Rayol-Canadel, I like to swing by the Domaine du Rayol for garden walks or grab fresh pastries at Maison Rousseau. Both are just minutes from the villa.

9. La Chance

I couldn’t write a list of the best French Riviera stays without including this Marseille gem. This villa sits just above the Corniche, with front-row views of the harbor from almost every room, and even the bathroom has a sea view.

The house has three bedrooms, a big open living space, and a terrace that’s basically an outdoor living room. You’ll find a pétanque court, ping pong table, grill, paddleboards, and even a secret garden path straight to Plage du Prophète.

For the best local flavors, grab bouillabaisse at Chez Michel or stock up on fresh produce at Le Marché du Prado. If you’re up for a quick climb, Notre-Dame de la Garde is nearby and offers one of the best viewpoints in Marseille.

10. Chateau Algarve

Some stays are nice, others are legendary, and then there’s staying in a 19th-century Italianate villa that once housed Russian royalty. Chateau Algarve sits on the highest point of Cap d’Antibes, where superyachts anchor directly in front of your windows and you’re literally living in a piece of history owned by Grand Duke Nikolai Nikolaievich.

Four bedrooms sleep 8 in palatial surroundings with a grand library, exquisite dining room for 10, and terraces overlooking the bay. The live-in housekeeper André prepares continental breakfast and provides daily cleaning. This is where Cartier executives and diplomats retreat, complete with original art and artifacts throughout.

You’re an 11-minute walk to Vieil Antibes and 13 minutes to Juan-les-Pins Beach. The Picasso Museum is a 5-minute drive, and I always recommend dinner at La Petite Maison in Nice for the ultimate French Riviera experience.

11. La Voglia Matta

  • 📍 Location: Monaco, French Riviera
  • 💵 Price Per Night: $1,447/night
  • 🛏️ Sleeps: 10 guests
  • 🔥 Unique Features: Vintage yacht, 5 cabins, moored in Monaco’s Fontvieille Marina
  • 🌟 Perfect For: Ocean lovers ⚓, romantic getaways 💕, luxury travelers 💼, and unforgettable celebrations 🥂

Ever wanted to wake up floating in Monaco harbor with a captain at your service? La Voglia Matta is a 30-meter steel yacht from 1977 that’s permanently docked in Port Fontvieille, and it’s the most unique way to experience the principality. Five cabins sleep 10 guests, each with en-suite bathrooms, plus there’s a master suite and VIP stateroom.

Donatella and her crew provide 24/7 service, and you can book day charters during summer. The yacht has maritime luxuries but limited kitchen access (small fridge, coffee machine, microwave available).

You’re within walking distance of Fontvieille Shopping Center and the Condamine district, with Port Hercule just minutes away on foot. For lunch, I recommend Café de Paris in Monte Carlo, followed by evening drinks at Jimmy’z if you’re in the mood for the ultimate yacht-side vibe.

12. Hillside Stone Villa

  • 📍 Location: La Garde-Freinet, French Riviera
  • 💵 Price Per Night: $470/night
  • 🛏️ Sleeps: 10 guests
  • 🔥 Unique Features: Private pool, mountain views, BBQ grill, large garden, pet-friendly
  • 🌟 Perfect For: Families 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, nature lovers 🌳, Provence getaways 🍷

If you’re craving a peaceful French Riviera escape without the crowds of Saint-Tropez, this countryside villa is calling your name. It’s tucked into the hills near La Garde-Freinet, with mountain views, a private pool, and space for the whole crew (including your dog).

The house feels like a lived-in family home. Think stone walls, cozy fireplaces, and a big garden for alfresco dinners. There’s room for 10 guests across five bedrooms, plus a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of spots to lounge. The pool is open from April to September. Even off-season, this is the kind of place that makes you slow down and savor the setting.

Don’t miss the local market in La Garde-Freinet for fresh cheese and honey. For beach days, Pampelonne Beach is about a 45-minute drive.

13. Les Lavandins

  • 📍 Location: Callian, French Riviera
  • 💵 Price Per Night: $152/night
  • 🛏️ Sleeps: 2 guests
  • 🔥 Unique Features: Treehouse-inspired cabin, shared pool, tranquil garden setting
  • 🌟 Perfect For: Couples 💑, solo travelers 🧘, nature lovers 🌿

Here’s one for the couples looking to escape the crowds without sacrificing style or comfort. The Maisonette in the Trees feels like your own private hideout in Callian, complete with a pool, garden, and just enough space for two.

The cabin is sleek and modern, but still warm and inviting. You’ll have a queen bed, a kitchen for slow breakfasts, and air conditioning to keep you cool after sun-drenched afternoons. The property is adults only, so it stays extra peaceful. Bonus: it’s pet friendly, so your dog is welcome too.

Take a short drive to Lac de Saint-Cassien for paddleboarding or a lakeside picnic, then head to Le Bellevue in Callian for dinner with one of the best terrace views in the village. If you’re a golfer, Terre Blanche Golf Course is just 8 minutes away.
