Lakeside West Cabin sits above Tumalo Lake on a private 640-acre parcel ringed by the Deschutes National Forest, about 12 miles west of downtown Bend. The main floor has an open layout with radiant heated floors, a wood-burning stove, and a kitchen with granite counters and a Jenn-Air professional stove, plus a bedroom suite that opens right onto the deck. Upstairs you’ll find two more bedroom suites with their own baths and a second living room with a queen sofa bed and wide views of the water.
The cabin is built from huge Douglas fir beams and cedar shakes, and big windows in every room give it a treehouse feel. Out on the wrap-around deck there’s a private hot tub for stargazing, a gas grill, a hammock, and Adirondack rockers. Down at the water, the kayaks and paddleboards are free to borrow, and I’d happily spend a morning on the lake watching for osprey and bald eagles overhead.
A 2-mile loop trail circles Tumalo Lake, Tumalo Falls is just 4 miles up the road, and Mt Bachelor is about 45 minutes away. Pets and TV aren’t part of the setup here, and the satellite Wi-Fi is shared among four cabins and can’t handle streaming or Zoom calls. Rideshare and delivery services don’t reach the property, and in winter the plowed access road gets snow packed, which means you’ll need AWD or 4WD with chains on hand.

Lakeside Landing is the entire upstairs of a two-story home on Woahink Lake, just outside Florence on the Oregon Coast. The unit is completely separate from the hosts’ space and has its own entrance up an exterior staircase. Inside, the king bedroom looks out over the water, the second bedroom has a queen, and you’ll also find a full kitchen, a dining room, and in-unit laundry.
The private deck gives you 180-degree views across Woahink Lake, and the sunrises show up right outside your bedroom window. A grass lawn leads down to a sandy beach with two docks, a gas BBQ, and a ramp with room for two jet skis, and the hosts encourage guests to bring their own boats and boards. I love that the water out front is still legally a landing strip for seaplanes, which explains the aircraft hangar at the north edge of the property.
Old Town Florence is just minutes up the road for coffee and dinner, and the sand dunes and ocean beaches are close by as well. The home sits right off Highway 101, which brings some road noise during the day, and parking is on the street. The docks and ramp can get slippery, and the hosts ask everyone to wear life jackets while out on the lake.

Lakeside Leisure is a lake view home on Devils Lake in Lincoln City, about 100 feet from the water and tucked back from the roads. The primary bedroom has a queen bed and sits next to one of two full baths, while the kids’ room has a bunk bed. The updated kitchen pairs a gas range and granite countertops with an oversized island, and the living room has a leather couch facing the fireplace.
Three sliding doors make up the living room wall, and opening them brings the sound of the lake right inside. Out on the deck you’ve got a private hot tub and a gas BBQ, and the private dock comes with kayaks and stand-up paddleboards for guests to use. Local deer tend to pass through the big yard, and I’d happily spend every evening around the fire pit after a morning out on the kayaks.
The beach is about a 15-minute walk away, and the stores in Lincoln City are close by. Parking is free on the property, and the outside of the home has security cameras. Check-in starts at 5 p.m. and checkout is at 10 a.m., which gives you a slightly earlier start than usual on your last morning.

A long, steep staircase drops down to a 16×20-foot private dock, and guests get a two-person canoe and a small kayak to take out on the water. The hosts say the upstairs third bedroom has the best views in the house, and I’d claim it for myself and start each morning looking out over the lake.
The home sits in the Lakeshore Drive community, about three miles from Joseph and seven miles from Enterprise, where you’ll find restaurants and the bronze art walk. Pets aren’t allowed under the rental permit, which also caps each stay at eight guests and three cars, and the shared driveway is fairly steep with no room for boats or trailers. The dock is available from about May 15 through early October depending on lake levels, and paddleboards can be rented locally.
