Travel Itineraries

Over the past 8+ years, I’ve traveled through 69 countries by train, tuk-tuk, ferry, rental car, and yes… even by horseback. I’ve road tripped across the U.S., backpacked through Southeast Asia, island-hopped in Greece, and mapped out Alps-to-Adriatic itineraries that feel like something out of a movie.

This section features my most comprehensive, personally tested travel itinerarie…whether you’re planning a weekend in Paris or a 3-week road trip through the American Southwest.

What You’ll Find in This Section…

🚗 Epic Road Trips

I’ve driven coast-to-coast and deep into national parks, creating detailed routes with stop-by-stop breakdowns, Google Maps, hotel recs, and hidden gem detours. Some favorites:

  • New England Fall Foliage Itinerary (my most detailed and in-demand trip guide)

  • Ultimate Pacific Northwest Road Trip (Washington, Oregon)

  • Southwest USA Road Trip through Utah’s Mighty 5, Arizona, and New Mexico

🏙️ City Breaks & Long Weekends

You’ll also find optimized 2–5 day city itineraries that cover the must-sees without the burnout. These are based on my own time spent living or traveling in cities like:

  • Barcelona, where I studied abroad and return often

  • Vienna, Hamburg, and Verona, where I’ve recently explored hidden corners and local spots

  • Boston, where I’ve lived my entire life and know every neighborhood inside and out

🏝️ Island Hopping & Coastal Routes

From chasing sunsets across the Greek Islands to ferry-hopping in Patagonia, I’ve mapped out smooth, scenic routes that minimize stress and maximize adventure. You’ll also find tropical escapes like:

  • Bali in 3 Weeks

  • Azores and Madeira guides

  • Caribbean beach-hopping and coastal New England adventures

🏔️ Adventure & Nature Itineraries

For those who crave mountains, trails, and natural wonder:

  • 7-Day Yellowstone + Grand Teton Road Trip (based on my 3 visits)

  • Backpacking Patagonia (El Chaltén to Torres del Paine)

  • The Alps by Train (Switzerland, Austria, Italy)

I don’t just Google a few stops and stitch them together. These itineraries come from personal experience…driving the roads myself, staying in these hotels, doing the hikes, figuring out where to eat, and building in time to breathe.

Every guide balances bucket list highlights with offbeat local finds, so you get the full experience without the overwhelm.

This is what “vast” looks like 🇺🇸 I seriously lov This is what “vast” looks like 🇺🇸

I seriously love Glacier National Park in Montana. Big skies, wildlife everywhere, and views that feel endless.

Going-to-the-Sun Road is one of my favorite drives in the U.S. Every turn gives you another “how is this real?” moment. Waterfalls, cliffs, glacial valleys, and when you get lucky…grizzly bears! 🐻

I’ve been here twice over the years, and it still gets me. Same road, totally different feeling each time. And the hiking is next level! Happy to send over my favorites…just ask! 😁🥾

If you grew up hearing about it, go see it…this wi If you grew up hearing about it, go see it…this winter ❄️

I’ve been to the Grand Canyon three times over the years, and winter is still my favorite vibe. Less crowds, crisp air, and peace & quiet that makes you feel small in the best way.

Sure, you lose out on some things like mule trips, North Rim access, and a few services that run lighter in winter, but the trade is worth it. You get space to breathe, easier photos without a sea of people, and that cold, clear light that makes the layers pop.

And honestly, summer has its own downsides. The heat can be brutal, the trails can feel punishing fast, and the crowds can turn iconic viewpoints into a waiting game.

If you grew up hearing about it & haven’t been yet, go see it in the off-season. This park is pure America. Put this on the calendar, not the wishlist.

Share this with someone who needs a proper American road trip 🇺🇸🚗

The world is moving fast right now. AI is everywhe The world is moving fast right now. AI is everywhere, and it’s easy to feel like we’re entering something completely new.

But one of my biggest lessons from this past year is this: if you want to understand where we’re going, study where we’ve been.

A couple months ago, I traveled parts of the Silk Road and it reminded me that humans have always lived through big transitions. New technologies. New economies. New power structures. But also the same emotions: excitement, fear, resistance. The rate of change back then must’ve been overwhelming, and yet people adapted & overcame their circumstances.

Not by predicting every detail, but by doubling down on fundamentals:
	• community and cooperation
	• useful skills
	• adaptability
	• long-term thinking
	• values that don’t change when tools do

The Industrial Revolution didn’t end opportunity. It redistributed it. This moment feels similar.

Change isn’t the enemy. It’s a part of life, and what a gift it is to be living right now.

My focus going into 2026 is simple: learn some of the new tools, but anchor myself in timeless principles. I want to focus on what’s useful, ignore the noise, and double down on what has always worked.

Happy New Year! Would love to hear what lessons you’ve learned in the past year & what you want to focus on in 2026! 😁
A small prayer for the year ahead: more moments li A small prayer for the year ahead: more moments like this.

As AI gets louder and the world speeds up, I hope we choose what stays human. Presence. Curiosity. Kindness. Real conversations. Real places.

May 2026 bring you less noise and more life. And the courage to protect what matters, even when it is simple.

What are you choosing more of this year? #2026 #newyear
I found a Bavarian town that still feels local… an I found a Bavarian town that still feels local… and it shocked me.

We rented a car from Munich and did a road trip through southern Germany, and Landshut was our first stop. Gorgeous old town, pastel buildings, cobblestone streets, and somehow… almost nobody around. Over the years, I’ve been to over 20 towns and cities across Bavaria, and somehow this one felt super local, while still having so much to offer! Perhaps it was the time of year (fall) that contributed to this experience, but hey, I’ll take it!

I was especially surprised when I went up to Trausnitz Castle and didn’t see a single soul for 15 minutes. This has to be one of the most scenic vantage points of the German countryside & Landshut’s old town. 🏰

My favorite part was grabbing a coffee and pastry on the main street and just people-watching for a while. It felt super local too, with everyone on bikes going about their daily life. I genuinely didn’t hear English the whole time, which is super rare these days. Honestly, felt like Germany 20+ years ago!

If you want a charming, easy Munich day trip that feels like a secret, put Landshut on your list.

Save this for your Bavaria itinerary & comment “DAY TRIP” below and I’ll send you my favorite Munich day trips! 🇩🇪

I loved visiting Foroglio way back in 2021, before I loved visiting Foroglio way back in 2021, before the hype really kicked in. 🇨🇭

My wife and I were the only ones there. Seriously. Just stone lanes, mountain air, and that unreal quiet. Magical!

We road-tripped around Ticino (Switzerland’s Italian-speaking canton) and chased a bunch of stone villages. Foroglio was easily a favorite.

Other spots I loved: Lavertezzo, Sonogno, Corippo, Brontallo, Moghegno, and Bosco Gurin. Had some outstanding food down there…dishes like polenta and risotto, and of course…pizza! 🍕👌

If you’re planning Ticino, save this. Go early or late in the day for that same peaceful vibe. 🏔️🙌

Madeira might be one of my all-time favorite desti Madeira might be one of my all-time favorite destinations. 🇵🇹

I love that you can fly direct from Boston (seasonally) and in under 6 hours, you’re transported to one of the most epic islands on Earth...they don’t call it the Hawaii of Europe for nothing! I’ve been twice (2022 and 2024) and I’d go back tomorrow! 🌊⛰️

What really gets me about Madeira is how wild the variety is for such a small island. One minute it’s warm and coastal with bananas and palm trees, the next it feels moody and alpine, and then you’re up in the clouds with that Jurassic-looking greenery.

If you like road trips, Madeira is elite. The drives are short but dramatic, with tunnels, cliffs, and lookouts that make you pull over every five minutes. I always tell people: rent a car, go slow, and plan fewer stops than you think. You will stop anyway!

Save this for later, and send it to the friend who actually gets those trips out of the group chat 👀✈️
